Gower Coast Adventures

Experience fantastic wildlife and incredible views of the beautiful south Gower coast on this 2 hour boat tour from Oxwich Bay beach to the tidal island of Worms Head at the western tip of the Gower peninsula.

Oystermouth Castle

Oystermouth Castle sits majestically on the hill in Mumbles with stunning views overlooking Swansea Bay. Swansea Council manages Oystermouth Castle, working in partnership with the Friends of Oystermouth Castle who are responsible for the daily operation of the attraction.

Clyne Gardens

The park was formed from the landscaped gardens created by Glynn Vivian of the Vivian family who purchased Clyne Castle in 1860. The estate passed to his nephew Algernon, ‘The Admiral’ in 1921 who owned it until his death in 1952. He had the greatest influence on the gardens as we see them today. Clyne Gardens contains varied National Collections of plants set in beautiful parkland.

Go Ape Margam

A tree-top adventure course located in the beautiful Margam Country Park, Port Talbot, South Wales. The park is spread over 1,000 acres of parkland and is home to the largest deer herd in Wales. The course is sectioned into 5 parts linked by footpaths and includes obstacle cross-overs, zips up to 180m, and the UK’s biggest Tarzan Swing. The park also offers a range of other activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and SUP.

Perriswood Archery & Falconry

A family-run business located in the heart of Gower, Swansea, Wales. The center offers a range of activities that can be enjoyed by all generations and families. The center is home to 38 birds of prey, and visitors can enjoy displays and experience days where they will have the opportunity to meet and hold the birds. Perriswood also offers archery lessons for adults and children from the age of 6 for all abilities. The Rifle Range at Perriswood is available for participants of 14 years and over

Gower Heritage Centre

A countryside crafts center located in the heart of Gower Peninsula, Swansea, Wales. The center was established in 1990 and is situated in historical and beautiful surroundings. The center is home to a 12th-century water-powered corn and sawmill that has been renovated and is still fully functional. The center also features experienced craftspeople who offer workshops in a variety of crafts such as pottery, cider making, and woolen mill. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the center, which includes the water wheel, corn mill, flour mill, wood lathe, and other historic equipment.

Oxwich Castle

A Tudor manor house built by an ambitious father and son in the 16th century. It has a mock-military style and a stunning sea view. You can visit it for free from April to September 2024, and see its remains of a dovecote, a hall and a gallery. The castle is located on a wooded headland overlooking Oxwich Bay

Dylan Thomas Birthplace & Family Home

A living museum located in Swansea, Wales, UK. The house was the birthplace of the late Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, where he lived with his family for the first 23 years of his life and created two-thirds of his published works. The house has been restored to its original Edwardian era style and is open to visitors for private tours, staycations, and dining experiences.

Dylan Thomas Centre

A museum and cultural center located in Swansea, Wales. It is dedicated to the life, work, and legacy of Dylan Thomas, the famous Welsh poet. The center hosts an exhibition called Love the Words, which showcases Thomas’s life, work, and cultural context. The exhibition includes original manuscripts, photographs, and audio recordings of Thomas’s works.

National Waterfront Museum

It is one of the seven national museums in Wales and is dedicated to the history of industry and innovation in Wales over the last 300 years. The museum is housed in a former dockside warehouse and features interactive exhibits, collections, and events that showcase the stories of Welsh colliery horses, mining, metal-working, and transport technologies.

Swansea Museum

The oldest museum in Wales, established in 1841 by the Royal Institution of South Wales. The museum is located in the Maritime Quarter of Swansea and is dedicated to preserving the industrial, maritime, and cultural histories of Swansea. The museum’s collection includes a variety of objects from Swansea’s past, including nautical objects, artefacts from the mining industry, and works of art from cultures around the world.

Taliesin Arts Centre

Named after Taliesin, the 6th century Celtic bard. The center comprises a theatre, cinema, and gallery, and hosts a variety of live performances, from dance and drama to jazz and world music. The center also features regular cinema screenings and visiting exhibitions. The Egypt Centre, a two-story gallery containing an important collection of antiquities from Ancient Egypt, is also located within the center.

Aberdulais Tin Works & Waterfall

A preserved former industrial site located in Aberdulais near Neath in South Wales. The site has a rich history dating back over 400 years, and was originally a copper smelting works set up by Ulrich Frosse in 1584. The site later became a water-powered tin mine, and the remains of the 19th-century water-powered tinplate works can still be seen today. The site is now owned and maintained by the National Trust, and features the largest electricity-generating waterwheel in Europe
